Bruno Sacco was an Italian automotive designer who served as the chief designer of Mercedes-Benz from 1979 to 1999. During his tenure, he oversaw the design of some of the most iconic Mercedes-Benz models of all time, including the W126 S-Class, the 190 (W201),the SL (R129),and the S-Class (W140).

Sacco was born in Turin, Italy, in 1933. He studied at the Polytechnic University of Turin, where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering. After graduating, he worked for a number of Italian design studios before joining Mercedes-Benz in 1958.

Sacco quickly rose through the ranks at Mercedes-Benz, and in 1979 he was appointed chief designer. One of his first major projects was the design of the W126 S-Class, which was launched in 1979. The W126 was a huge success, and it helped to establish Sacco's reputation as one of the world's leading automotive designers.

Sacco followed up the success of the W126 with a number of other iconic designs, including the 190 (W201),the SL (R129),and the S-Class (W140). These cars were all critically acclaimed for their elegant and timeless designs.

Sacco retired from Mercedes-Benz in 1999. He continued to work as a design consultant until his death in 2016.
